What’s been happening:

Dr. Roy B. Hinkle Roy B. Hinkle, D. Ed, born March 28, 1929, in Milnesville, (near the city of Hazleton, Pennsylvania) is a tenor, conductor, composer, and music educator. He earned three degrees from Penn State; a Bachelors of Music Education (1951), a Masters of Music Education (1957), and a Doctor of Education in Music Education (1987). In 1951 Roy taught music classes and directed choirs, bands and orchestras in McConnelsburg, PA. From 1952- 963 he held a similar position in Freeland, PA., teaching music classes, directing ensembles and serving as Supervisor of Music. In 1963 he joined the faculty of Albright College, Reading, PA. where for 37 years he directed ensembles and taught music courses. Upon completing his doctorate, he was promoted in rank, receiving Full Professor. He retired in 2000, receiving Professor Emeritus. In addition to teaching, Roy has continued singing professionally as a tenor soloist at Temple Oheb Shalom, Reading, several different churches, and in community presentations of oratorio, opera, operetta, and art song. Roy studied singing in New York for seven years, and in 1972, he studied Voice & German diction at AIMS in Graz, Austria. He sang many duet concerts with his wife, Elizabeth. From 1978 -1997 Roy served as Musical Director of the Reading Liederkranz Singers. During that time, Roy composed five choral compositions.
